Mario Miranda Tours is a family tour business operated by Mario Miranda, a licensed public transportation driver in Costa Rica. We provide complete trip planning and transportation services to help you discover the best of Costa Rica.

Our Services Include:

• Custom trip planning and itinerary design
• Complete day tours (Arenal Volcano, coffee plantations, beaches, etc.)
• Transportation to national parks, restaurants, and attractions
• Local recommendations and guidance
• Airport transfers
• Multi-day tour coordination

2. Insurance Coverage

2.1 INS Public Transportation Insurance Policy

Mario Miranda maintains a mandatory INS insurance policy (Póliza del INS) for public transportation that covers:

WHAT IS COVERED:

• Medical expenses from accidents during transportation
• Vehicle damage from traffic accidents
• Third-party liability during transport
• Emergency medical care on the road

WHAT IS NOT COVERED:

• Pre-existing medical conditions
• Accidents when you are NOT in our vehicle
• Activities with other tour operators
• Personal belongings or luggage
• Travel insurance (you need your own)

2.2 Important Limitation

3. Your Responsibilities

3.1 Before the Trip

• Book your own travel insurance if desired
• Inform us of any medical conditions that could affect travel
• Understand that third-party activities require their own insurance
• Confirm pickup times and locations

3.2 During Transportation

• Wear seatbelts at all times
• Follow Mario's safety instructions
• Do not distract the driver
• No smoking in the vehicle
• Keep the vehicle clean

4. Third-Party Activities

4.1 What This Means

When we take you to:

• National parks
• Adventure tour companies (zip-lines, rafting, etc.)
• Restaurants
• Hotels
• Other attractions

These businesses are independent from Mario Miranda Tours. They have their own:

• Insurance policies
• Safety procedures
• Terms and conditions
• Liability coverage

4.2 Our Role

We provide trip planning, recommendations, and transportation to these locations. However, we are not responsible for:

• Safety during their activities
• Their service quality
• Accidents during their tours
• Their insurance coverage

You participate in third-party activities at your own risk.

5. Pricing & Payments

5.1 Payment Terms

• Prices quoted in USD
• Payment accepted: Cash, bank transfer, PayPal
• Full payment required before or at end of service
• Prices include Costa Rican taxes

5.2 Cancellation Policy

• 24+ hours notice: Full refund
• Less than 24 hours: 50% charge
• No-show: Full charge
• Weather cancellation: Full refund or reschedule

6. Limitations of Liability

6.1 Mario Miranda Tours is Responsible For:

• Safe driving and vehicle maintenance
• Getting you to destinations safely
• Professional, courteous service
• Valid transportation license and insurance

6.2 Mario Miranda Tours is NOT Responsible For:

• Lost or stolen personal items
• Accidents during third-party activities
• Weather-related delays or cancellations
• Third-party service quality or safety
• Your personal travel insurance needs

7. Luggage & Personal Belongings

• We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged luggage
• Do not leave valuables in the vehicle unattended
• Keep important documents with you at all times
• Travel insurance should cover your personal belongings

8. Emergencies

8.1 Medical Emergencies

1. Mario will provide basic first aid if trained
2. Call 911 (Costa Rica emergency number)
3. Transport to nearest medical facility
4. Contact your emergency contacts
5. INS insurance will cover accident-related medical expenses

8.2 Vehicle Breakdown

• Mario will arrange alternative transportation
• No additional charges for breakdown delays
• INS insurance covers vehicle-related issues

9. Conduct & Behavior

9.1 Expected Behavior

• Treat Mario and his vehicle with respect
• Be punctual for scheduled pickups
• Follow Costa Rican laws and customs
• Respect local communities and environment

9.2 Unacceptable Behavior

We reserve the right to terminate service for:

• Intoxication or drug use
• Aggressive or inappropriate behavior
• Damage to vehicle
• Illegal activities

No refund will be given for terminated services due to misconduct.
